BIOGRAPHY
Eren Alptekin is a Newport Beach-based contemporary artist specializing in mixed media. To create her abstract compositions, she maximizes the use of texture and bold imagery to visualize her unique experiences and observations. Eren’s intentionality, imaginative faculty, and original techniques are the driving force behind her balanced and engaging art. With an expressive visual style, Eren strives to invoke a sense of inspiration and freshness by juxtaposing familiar landmarks and vistas with striking color and grandeur.
Eren earned her Master of Science in Architecture (M. Arch.) from Columbia University in New York City, after receiving her Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Architecture, from Istanbul Technical University in Istanbul, Turkey. Eren’s relationship with the arts has evolved over the years but her structural roots always shine through.
Eren has exhibited her work in numerous galleries and juried art shows throughout California for more than twenty years and her work has been displayed in public and private collections in the United States and abroad. She has been recognized and honored with awards, including most recently in mixed media at OCFA Showcase Gallery Show. Her work has been selected and featured on publications for Beverly Hills Art Show, Newport Beach Art Show at Civic Center and Art Venture at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. She has been represented by various galleries in Laguna Beach, CA and exhibits regularly at many juried art shows including the Laguna Art-A-Fair.
Eren finds continuous inspiration from the rich urban life and natural splendor of California and is always looking forward to her next endeavor.
